Computer Science Education Grants Awarded to ESD 112 and Camas School District

"This month Washington STEM, in partnership with Washington’s Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), announced the first round of $4 million in grants to statewide schools, school districts, educational service districts, higher education institutions, nonprofits, and community based organizations to support computer science education.

The competitive grants will make it possible for the ESD and Camas School District to provide professional development for teachers, obtain technology, and expand computer science course offerings and programs. Grant recipients must have partnered with private organizations and individuals to be eligible for the grant from OSPI. Because the STEM Network has partnered with the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Clark County to put on the education component of the Digital Technology Expo the ESD has been able to leverage that event as part of the private match. Thanks you GVCC and Leadership Clark County for supporting the network which helped ESD112 secure the $500,000 Computer Science Grant for our students in SW Washington!"
